Practical politics, grounded in evidence — focused on what's right for our communities, now and into the future.
ABOUT
I'm a Fianna Fáil County Councillor representing the Kildare-Newbridge Municipal District on Kildare County Council. With deep roots in County Kildare, I bring a practical, solutions-focused approach to local government, combining my background in international business and technology with a genuine commitment to the communities I serve.
Before entering local politics, I built a career at the forefront of the tech sector, spending seven years leading sales teams at one of the world's most influential social media companies before moving into international business development roles. I currently work in senior business development, managing partnerships with leading consumer brands.
I also serve on the Eastern and Midland Regional Assembly (EMRA), where I work on EU cohesion policy and funding strategies that have direct implications for the Kildare region and beyond.
Council Work
My approach to council work is simple: research the issue, understand the evidence, and make the decision that's right for our communities in the long run — even when that's not the easiest call.
My key priorities include:
Housing policy — advocating for zoning and planning decisions that are well-evidenced and deliver genuinely liveable communities for the long term.
Local development — supporting the businesses, amenities and services that make the Kildare-Newbridge area a great place to live and work.
Transparency and accountability — making sure residents have a clear voice in the decisions that affect their lives, and that those decisions are properly justified.
As a member of the Kildare-Newbridge Municipal District, I work closely with local communities, businesses and statutory bodies to represent the interests of the area at council level.
EMRA
I serve as a member of the Eastern and Midland Regional Assembly (EMRA), one of Ireland's three regional assemblies responsible for coordinating spatial planning and EU cohesion funding across the eastern region.
Through my EMRA role, I have presented to the Oireachtas Joint Committee on European Affairs, advocating for stronger regional assembly powers and better coordination of EU structural and investment funds. I believe that regions like Kildare, sitting at the intersection of Dublin's growth and Ireland's rural heartland, need a stronger voice in how national and EU resources are allocated.
PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND
I've spent my career at the intersection of technology, business development and international commerce. I spent seven years in a senior sales leadership role at one of the world's leading social media platforms, building and managing teams focused on growth across the SMB market. I subsequently worked with an marketing-tech startup before moving into my current role in senior business development, where I manage relationships with major global consumer brands across European markets.
This commercial experience directly informs my approach to council work; bringing analytical rigour, an understanding of how businesses operate, and a track record of building relationships and getting things done.
HOW I CAN HELP
One of the most important parts of my role as your local councillor is being a direct point of contact between residents and the systems that affect their daily lives. If you're not sure whether something is worth getting in touch about, it probably is.
People contact me for all kinds of reasons, including:
Planning and housing — questions about planning permission applications, objections, or navigating the planning process; housing policy queries; or understanding your rights and options as a tenant or homeowner.
Council services — whether it's roads, footpaths, public lighting, litter, parks or any other local service that isn't working as it should, I can raise the issue directly with the relevant council department.
Social welfare and entitlements — I can forward queries to the relevant government departments on your behalf and help ensure you get a response, even if the answer isn't always straightforward.
Community and local development — if your community group, residents' association or local organisation needs help accessing council resources, funding or support, I can help you navigate the process and make the right connections.
Any local issue that matters to you — if something is affecting your quality of life in Kildare and you don't know where to turn, get in touch.
